Gucci's Frida Giannini to be Immortalized in James Franco's documentary

Frida Giannini has been working for Gucci close to 10 years and has been a main designer of the fashion house since 2004. There is very little known about her as she tries to keep low media profile and rarely even gives interviews, if she does it is mostly about Gucci and collections she is working on. She is one of the least known currently living designers. Everybody knows Gucci, few know Frida Giannini.

American actor and director James Franco is about to change that. It has been announced last week that James Franco signed to do a full feature documentary about Gucci and specifically Frida Giannini. James already has a close connection with Gucci as he is one of the models for Gucci men perfume. Perhaps his friendship with Frida has inspired him to do a documentary about her. Another accomplished director Christina Voros will be co-directing the film.

Making a documentary about a fashion house is not an easy task. While many people will tell you they love fashion, they are only interested in the concept of it as oppose the process, details of behind the scenes stuff. Gucci has an interesting history, but the stable design history and lack of scandals made people be less appreciative about the brand. It is also a brand that got itself into many uberluxurious projects such as equestrian collection or Fiat interior design. Few people have interest in these projects as they can't find a personal connection with them. Because Frida is such a "normal" person, James faces a hard task to find an interesting edge to show off Frida's talent and accomplishments.

Documentary most likely to be released in 2014
